Media Arts 100 "Time" project.
I took multiple pictures of this steam clock located in Gastown, Vancouver. It's a beautiful subject and this HDR shows time in a couple different ways.

First the obvious clock in the picture, I set it up in thirds which worked better than the original composition so that you see the clock almost instantly.

The other form of time that I try to show is the motion of cars driving by, which you can see the headlights "light-painting" their way down the old street. Motion is time in a sense, so this works well.

I think for one of the first pictures of this subject for this specific project it will work well. I might change it, but let me know your ideas or thoughts on my work! I'd love some critiques.

I used Photoshop, Lightroom 4, and Photomatix for this image.

Thanks!

The same as any other HDR. I used a f1.6 in this one to get in a bit more light, it works sometimes just at a normal aperture.

Really? Did you use Nikon D5100 for this shot? Because the lowest aperture I can do is like f3.4 or something...

I did use the D5100 for this, I just have a few different lenses. I used my 35mm 1.8

very dramatic, looks like a scene from a sci-fi movie, the star and different lighting changes and colors. :)

Those aren't actually stars, they were just lights in the tree! Thanks for the comment though, I'm glad you enjoy this piece!
